Gauthier is an undersized but scrappy playmaking center who is solid on the forecheck and plays a well-rounded 200 foot game. His skating is good but not great, but he more than compensates with what Red Line Report rates as the fifth best hockey sense in this year’s class. Red Line projects Gauthier has a solid 2nd or 3rd line player in the mold of Travis Konecny. As an aside, Gauthier in a NHL legacy whose father Denis played defenseman in the league for several clubs including on the 2004 Calgary Flames team that… well… you know.
