Lagace, Gage Goncalves, and Cole Koepke were the game’s three stars.

Syracuse painted a Picasso that, in a best-of-five series, gives them up to three chances now to eliminate Rochester. The grabbed a 2-0 lead in the First Period in a frame where they outshot the Americans a stunning 14-0. In the Second Period, they killed a 5 minute major on a kneeing call against Dumont to maintain their margin. And all along the way, Lagace made the saves to make it stand up. This team has essentially been playing playoff hockey for the last month and a half and if tonight was a kind of midterm exam, playing against a Rochester team that absolutely needed this game, they aced it.
