Lightning dominate LA to set franchise home win streak mark.

LAK-2
TB-5

Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed two goals on 28 shots for the win. Didn’t feel like he had a lot of work despite the shot number, and one of his goals allowed was an unlucky own goal by Cole.

First Period
5:02 TB Point (29), (Kucherov)
6:21 TB Bellemare (3), (Perbix)
10:12 LAK Anderson-Dolan (6), (Fiala)
15:57 TB Perry (9), (Perbix, Namestnikov)

Second Period
15:20 TB Colton (10), (Perbix, Maroon)
19:08 LAK Danault (14), (Iafallo, Doughty)

Third Period
16:03 TB Hedman (4), (Stamkos, Point)

Nick Perbix, Ross Colton, and Corey Perry were the game’s three stars.

I don’t know if the Kings’ energy level was effected by being on a long roadie a la how the Lightning looked recently in Edmonton and Calgary, but tonight was a total squash. The shot totals don’t really tell the tale of how much the Lightning had the puck and did just about anything they wanted through the neutral zone. But for puck luck this should’ve been fully into garbage time after 40 minutes.

Perbix had three helpers and was +3 with 1 hit in 15:18. He’s now sitting at 15 points in 38 games played. Quick math tells us that’s a 30+ point pace over an 82 game season. And he’s +11, too. That’s outstanding for a rookie campaign and especially so for a guy who doesn’t get power play minutes. He’s three NHL appearances from graduating from prospect status on the site.
