Alnefelt, Alex Barre-Boulet, and Gemel Smith were the game’s three stars.

Alnefelt’s sophomore improvement from an abysmal .882 save percentage as a rookie is probably the most astonishing thing I’ve seen from a prospect in some while. He’s taken the starter’s job from Lagace and arguably changed the calculus for the organization for the foreseeable future when it comes to who will lead the Crunch into the playoffs and who might be the backup in Tampa next year.

The win moves Syracuse three points clear of Rochester for third in the division, and they convert a game in hand to move to within four points of second place Utica.
