Another Syracuse comeback.

SYR-4
SPR-2

Max Lagace allowed two goals on 25 shots for the win. His save percentage rises to .900 for pretty much the first time all season to pair with a strong record of 18-9-2-3.

First Period
14:55 SPR Laferriere (2), (Washkurak, Tucker)

Second Period
8:09 Joshua (7), (Lyle, Kessel)
9:18 SYR Smith (3), (Dumont, Hora)
15:17 SYR Nash (6), (Koepke, Jones)
16:57 SYR Dumont (26), (unassisted)

Third Period
19:25 SYR Dumont (27), (Ryfors, Richard)(EN)

Gabriel Dumont, Riley Nash, and Lagace were the game’s three stars.

The good news is Syracuse didn’t wait until the Third Period to make their move tonight for the comeback to get the points. This made things slightly less stressful, albeit only slightly.

Where we stand now: Laval lost in OT tonight, so Syracuse gained a smidge on second place, but really remain firmly ensconced in third place. That’s good/fine, because it secures a first round playoff bye. Fourth place Toronto was idle. Fifth place Rochester won in OT to stay a shave above Belleville, which is currently the first team out. Syracuse has eight games left on the schedule. Friday they get first place Utica and then they’ve got Toronto on Saturday. That Toronto game is the first of three straight games against the Canadian based clubs: Toronto, Belleville, and Laval. That little stretch of the remaining schedule is probably what’ll tell the biggest part of the tale as far as whether Syracuse makes the postseason and in what position.
