Tonight, in their season finale, I think you saw a testament to the culture of Ben Groulx’s program with the Crunch. With their big guns and veterans called up to the Black Aces in Tampa, the Crunch iced just 16 skaters tonight, three of which were junior level players. And with nothing to play for but pride, they scrapped out a win against rival Rochester that included a three goal final frame where the team blew the game open. Defenseman Jack Thompson had a helper in his pro debut while Jaydon Dureau’s helper also opened his pro scoring account. Just a great way to end a difficult season, logistically, with a more-than-respectable 19-10-3-0 mark.
