Organization-wide power outage extends to Syracuse.

Spencer Martin allowed two goals on 30 shots for the loss. Can’t blame your goaltender when he doesn’t allow a thing for 45+ minutes. The goal support just wasn’t there tonight.

The Crunch played without one half of their dynamic duo tonight with Boris Katchouk out of the lineup and it showed. Syracuse will play its season finale on Saturday at Rochester. They could still edge Lehigh Valley for second place in the North Division as the two teams are tied with 39 points, although the Phantoms hold two games in hand. Given where the team started in the first month or so of the season, though, it’s hard not to feel the club’s turnaround has been a smashing success and that Benoit Groulx has once again proven he’s probably a warlock. Eight games over .500 with a +25 goal differential is a far cry from how the campaign began, for sure.
