Woof.

TB-2

Curtis McElhinney allowed five goals on 31 shots for the loss. Hard to lay too much at his feet when there were so many breakaways and other Grade A chances surrendered tonight.

Second Period
5:17 DAL Pavelski (23), (Hintz)
11:11 TB Coleman (14), (Hedman, Goodrow)
13:05 DAL Pavelski (24), (Hintz)
19:45 DAL Hintz (15), (Kiviranta, Pavelski)

Third Period
3:49 DAL Kiviranta (5), (Pavelski, Benn)
8:29 TB Barre-Boulet (3), (Palat, Killorn)(PP)

That looked from the first puck drop tonight like a team that was not mentally present and possibly looking ahead to tomorrow’s tilt against Florida, and they got embarrassed. The detail work that had been so present for most of the last seven games was non-existent tonight. Passing was not sharp. Decision-making was not sharp. They got killed in the faceoff circles. It wasn’t good and unfortunately they just blew their game in hand on the Panthers as they try to secure first round home ice. Very surprising.

Alex Barre-Boulet had a garbage time PP goal and was -1 with 3 shots and 1 blocked shot in 16:07. Took a temporary demotion to the fourth line for some turnovers in the process. Seems to be that since he got his first NHL goal there’s been a little slide in his intensity.

Ross Colton had 3 shots and 1 hit in 10:30. But, he got slaughtered in the faceoff circles going 27% on 11 draws.
