Bad habits bite shorthanded Lightning.

MTL-5
TB-2

Jonas Johansson allowed four goals on 35 shots for the loss. Not a master class in defending in front of him tonight.

First Period
12:07 MTL Newhook (7), (Matheson, Laine)

Second Period
0:37 TB Hagel (17), (unassisted)
12:34 MTL Dvorak (3), (Guhle, Carrier)
18:28 MTL Evans (10), (Armia)
18:54 TB Kucherov (17), (Point, Raddysh)

Third Period
12:32 MTL Armia (7), (Heineman)
18:07 MTL Gallagher (10), (Anderson, Carrier)(EN)

Brandon Hagel was the game’s third star.

Bad habits in a big win where a team takes its foot off the gas and gets overwhelmed with score effects can bite you in the following game. That probably was a lot of the equation tonight compounded by Jake Guentzel being out of the lineup. Shouldn’t have gotten too high about the Rangers win. Can’t get too low now about this loss to the Canadiens. Flush it and get to the next one.

Conor Geekie had 1 shot, 1 hit, and 1 blocked shot in 13:32.

Michell Chaffee was -2 with 1 shot and 3 hits in 15:25.

Emil Lilleberg was -3 with 2 shots in 14:42.

Gage Goncalves was -1 with 1 shot and 1 hit in 6:57.
