Steven Stamkos was the game’s third star.
This was a playoff-level game from a speed and intensity standpoint with two experienced playoff teams that needed points in the standings. Glass half empty: the Lightning were down 3-1 in the Third Period in such a game. Glass half full: the Lightning found a way to come back to steal a point. Bottom line, with seven segments of the season complete the Lightning are a scant one point off 12-in-10 comfortable playoff pacing. There isn’t room for error with a dozen games to play, but the club’s more or less back on their benchmark they need to hit.
Mitchell Chaffee was -1 with 1 shot, 4 hits, and 2 blocked shots in 11:50. Had a short breakaway in the First Period, but couldn’t make much of it in tight quarters.
Emil Lilleberg was -1 with 2 hits and 2 blocked shots in 16:25.
