Brian Elliott allowed three goals on 21 shots for the win. A couple of them he might’ve wanted to do better on, and that was a lifeline for Montreal in this game.

Brandon Hagel and Mikhail Sergachev were the game’s first and second stars.
The Lightning dominated the balance of this game but had to remain vigilant and patient because of goaltending and officiating. You outshoot a team 41-21 methinks you usually get more than two power plays, but when you play Montreal that’s one of those franchises where bizarro things start happening with the refs.
Brandon Hagel has put himself in position with the hat trick tonight to run down his first 30 goal season. Those milestones don’t matter for many of these Lightning players, but you know it’ll mean a lot for him if/when he gets it.
Mikey Eysimmont had 1 hit in 8:28 in a very muted performance.
Darren Raddysh was +1 with 2 shots and 2 hits in 15:32. He was blissfully lost on Montreal’s first goal but got better from there.
