The Crunch outshot the division leading Rocket 26-23 in the contest but couldn’t find that one more goal to scratch out a result. It’s a different team offensively without Geekie and, to a lesser extent, without Finley. Elsewhere, Providence dropped Belleville 4-3 in OT, so that drops Syracuse’s magic number to one and Toronto defeated Cleveland in regulation. So Syracuse keeps a three point edge on Cleveland and Toronto for third in the division with both of those clubs holding a game in hand. Syracuse has just three games left in their regular season.
Ethan Gauthier made his pro debut in the game after ending his junior season.
