Syracuse caps a night of missed opportunities in the Lightning organization.
ROC-4
SYR-1
Ryan Fanti allowed four goals on 33 shots for the loss. I guess we solved the mystery of his callup yesterday with the news Jonas Johansson is away from the big club attending to a family matter. The chain reaction is Fanti had to start tonight backed up by Jon Gillies with Tomkins getting nicked up last night. He allowed the team to hang around and have a chance to the bitter end, so I can’t complain.

Tristan Allard was the game’s third star.
It was a rough night for the Crunch special teams, but truth be told Rochester just ran roughshod over them to the tune of a 33-17 shot advantage. What hurts is in the day games Laval put Cleveland to the sword 6-0, holding the Jackets farm team to just 11 shots on goal and the Marlies defeated Belleville so the club had an opportunity to build a little buffer between themselves and the teams equal to or behind them in the standings. So, just as with Tampa Bay failing to capitalize on Sunrise and Maple Leafs losses, so too did the Crunch miss a chance.
As it is, with twelve games to go in Syracuse’s regular season they’re still on the bubble with every game being a gotta-have-it game.
