Conor Sheary, Logan Brown, and Dylan Duke were the game’s three stars. Somewhat overshadowed by the recent exploits of his other teammates, Duke has a respectable 5-7-12 in his last 15 games, including back-to-back two assist games in this set against Springfield. I’ll also continue to stand on the table for Max Crozier’s NHL readiness with tonight’s kill shot goal in the Third Period putting him at 7-17-24 in his last 25 games. If consistency is the calling card of a successful pro hockey player, Max Crozier has put his on the bar.
The standings implications are quite similar to last night. Syracuse maintains its two point edge on Belleville with the Sens holding a game in hand after they once again pasted Bridgeport. The drama’s as big as the state of Texas for the second night in a row where the Stars hold a 4-3 lead on Cleveland through 40 minutes as of this writing after beating the Monsters last night. Should that score hold, Syracuse will be tied with Cleveland at 66 points with the Crunch holding a three game lead in the regulation wins tiebreaker and both teams having 14 games left to play. In other words, at nights end, the Crunch may have succeeded in reeling Cleveland in. What a difference a couple of weeks can make.
