I’m not mad about that effort overall. The Lightning came within a crossbar, post, or failed breakaway of tying a game where they seemed to me to have the better of Sunrise for two of the three periods. The margins are thin and during the eight game winning streak the Lightning were getting the luck of the breaks when the margins were thin. Tonight they didn’t get the puck luck and couldn’t convert on the PP. It stinks that it happened against Sunrise (whose very small fan base can kiss my whole backside forever now that their organization has chosen to nakedly embrace cap circumvention a la Las Vegas… and I look forward to Matty T getting his clean bill of health from the same kind of doctor Mark Stone did), but that effort tonight wins a lot more nights than it loses. Time to start a new winning streak.
Gage Goncalves had 1 shot and 1 hit in 12:44. Gage is now three appearances from graduation from prospect status.
