Lightning cough up a point they shouldn’t have.
TB-6
CBJ-7 (OT)
Jonas Johansson allowed seven goals on 43 shots for the OT loss. Ugly stat line, for sure, but this team has no excuse for allowing their backup to have to see 43 shots to begin with.

Sometimes the absolute worst thing for a team psychologically is to run up a big lead early in a game and then just mentally check out. It’s happened over and over again in Lightning history to the point where I always get creeping dread if the score hits 3-0 quickly. JoJo’s going to take a lot of heat for this giving up seven goals, and rightfully so, but the team’s got to understand the emphasis has to be on defending whenever it’s a backup starter. Just has to be.
Conor Geekie had one goal and one assist and was +1 with 3 shots, 2 hits, and 1 blocked shot in 13:35. He was also 44% on nine draws. Thank goodness the kids had a productive night.
Mitchell Chaffee also had one goal and one assist and was +1 with 2 shots and 3 hits in 15:37. Again, thank goodness the kids had a productive night.
Emil Lilleberg had 2 shots, 2 hits, and 1 blocked shot in 14:06.
Gage Goncalves had a helper but was -2 with 3 hits in 14:24 standing in for the injured Nick Paul.
