Nick Paul and Brayden Point were the game’s first and second stars.
The Lightning looked like they were going to run Nashville off the rink before a third goal was disallowed on video replay. I did not like how the team fell down from that moment on as Nashville pulled even with a power play goal and a goal on a bad line change. The response was poor, but they pulled it out in overtime to grab their 12th point in nine games. That means they have one extra game in the segment to try to grab some insurance points. That’s good on the whole, but I would like to see someone on the team step up and make plays to swing back momentum whenever the first sign of adversity hits as it did tonight.
Conor Geekie had 1 shot, 3 hits, and 3 blocked shots in 12:44. This was maybe his best game in the NHL thus far.
Mitchell Chaffee had a goal and was +1 with 1 shot in 11:44.
Emil Lilleberg was -1 with 1 shot and 2 hits in 16:10.
