Nikita Kucherov, JJ Moser, and Brayden Point were the game’s three stars.
Shot attempts in this game were 72-44 Tampa Bay. They trailed for much of the game due to a couple of goals against the run of play, but they stuck to the formula and eventually got the winner on a greasy goal fired into the crease area from a bad angle. This was the strategy and it’s working so far to the tune of a 3-0-0 start. They even overcame the Espo Rule tonight.
Conor Geekie was +1 with 4 penalty minutes and 1 hit in 11:31. He was also 20% on 5 draws. I felt like the refs were picking on the rookie a bit in this one, to be honest.
Mitchell Chaffee had a helper and was +1 in 9:08.
Emil Lilleberg had a helper and was +1 with 1 shot, 5 hits, and 1 blocked shot in 12:49. You can tell whether Lilleberg had a good night or not usually by his hit totals.
