Tomkins, Cole Koepke, and Daniel Walcott were the game’s three stars. Koepke matched his career high season in goals and points tonight in 18 less games than he accomplished the feat two seasons ago.

Syracuse outshot Providence 42-30 in the match, largely on the strength of a dominant 25-6 period that held the bizarre distinction of being the only frame the Canal Mules didn’t score. It was an impressive victory against a Bruins club that has the second highest point total in the Eastern Conference. Far from a slouch matchup.

Seriously, though, that name and logo goes hard. I’m 100% in favor of making that change stick.

Syracuse recovers from the loss by Lehigh Valley and sees Cleveland lose in OT to Rochester today. So, they hold a three point advantage over Cleveland and a five point cushion on Rochester atop the division with both of those teams holding a game in hand. Those two play each other on Wednesday, though. Syracuse has seven games remaining in its regular season.
