Lightning arrest their free fall.

TB-4
CBJ-2

Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed two goals in garbage time on 35 shots. Probably gets the shutout if the refs don’t botch the cross checking call to Eyssimont’s head.

First Period
15:40 TB Paul (14), (Hagel, Raddysh)(PP)

Second Period
0:49 TB Cirelli (11), (Hagel, Paul)

Third Period
0:23 TB Stamkos (22), (Hedman, Kucherov)(PP)
12:22 CBJ Jenner (14), (Gaudreau, Werenski)
15:50 CBJ Jenner (15), (Gaudreau, Marchenko)(PP)
19:12 TB Hagel (19), (Kucherov, Cirelli)(EN)

Vasilevskiy and Brandon Hagel were the game’s first and third stars.

Frustrating to surrender two garbage time goals and let Columbus get as close as the false hope goal, but generally speaking the Lightning were in total control of the contest thanks to reasonably good defending and solid goaltending to go with timely goal scoring. There’s something to be said for the decision to scratch Calvin de Haan in favor of Haydn Fleury. It worked well tonight.

Alex Barre-Boulet had a hit in 11:50. He’s now 7 appearances this season from finally graduating from overage prospect status on the site.

Mitchell Chaffee had a hit and 2 blocked shots in 9:13.

Emil Lilleberg had a hit and 3 blocked shots in 13:17.
