Catastrophic loss at MSG.
TB-1
NYR-3
Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed two goals on 23 shots for the loss. Probably could’ve done better on what became the GWG.

It seems insensitive to break down this game in much detail given what appeared to be a catastrophic leg injury suffered by Mikhail Sergachev in the Second Period. You rarely see a NHL head coach leave the bench to attend to an injured player, and Jon Cooper’s walk to the tunnel to intercept Sergachev as he was being stretchered off the ice tells you about everything you need to know. I would assume Sergachev is lost for the rest of the season. Anything short of that might be a miracle.
Alex Barre-Boulet had 1 hit in 11:07. Four missed shots that didn’t hit the net, two of which came on ten bell chances. He pots either of those it’s a completely different game. I’m not sure how many of these opportunities ABB can keep pee’ing down the leg.
Mitchell Chaffee had 1 shot and 2 hits in 9:36.
Emil Lilleberg had 2 hits in 17:55. Before Sergachev’s injury, I might’ve said that Lilleberg jumping over Calvin deHaan on the depth chart was one of the biggest stories of the week for the team. Now? Not so much.
