Tampa Bay grabs back hold of the rope.

Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped all 25 shots he faced for the shutout victory. This was a vintage performance for Vasilevskiy where he made huge situational saves during about four big flurries Dallas had in the game, particularly in the First Period, and gave his team time to build a big lead and make it a laugher. Beautiful he was able to gift Victor Hedman a shutout win in his 1,000th NHL game.

Hedman, Vasilevskiy, and Anthony Cirelli were the game’s three stars.
The underlying advanced stats from three of the four games during its losing streak said it was a buzzard’s luck slump and not a structural problem. Two days ago in Dallas, the succumbed to frustration and let go of the rope and really embarrassed themselves. The question for tonight was whether they’d pick the rope back up and get back to playing the right way, or if they’d give up. I am thankful that tonight was Hedman’s night and that they immediately got a chance to see Dallas again in the home-and-home because I think both things really contributed incentive for the Lightning to pick it back up. This was a huge response, now I wouldn’t bet against this club going on a win streak.
