Score effects obscure comfortable win for Syracuse.
TOR-3
SYR-4
Matt Tomkins allowed three goals on 26 shots for the win. A couple of garbage goals at the very end of the game including a 6-on-4 disadvantage marker made the stat line less flattering for him.

Mitchell Chaffee, Jack Thompson, and Tomkins were the game’s three stars.
Really, this was a game that the Syracuse had total control of for over 58 minutes and the only downside to the contest is maybe the gave the Marlies a little momentum heading into a rematch game tomorrow in Toronto.
As of this posting, Jack Thompson is tied for 7th in the AHL in defenseman scoring with 2-12-14 in 18 games. The sophomore pro is building quite the resume as he’s already earned an A on his jersey and he’s putting up the stats to match.
Syracuse sits in second place in the North Division, now one point back of first place Cleveland with the Monsters holding a game in hand.
