Victor Hedman, Brayden Point, and Mikhail Sergachev were the game’s three stars.
The goals aren’t flowing easily again yet, but at least they’re flowing. Statistically, it was a pretty dominating night for the Lightning and they probably deserved even better than the scoreline ended with. They were up 2:1 in shots on goal, roughly 2:1 in xG, and nearly 80% in Moneypuck’s Deserve to Win Meter. It was definitive at a time they really needed it.
The Lightning would need five of the next six points to close out a successful segment two of the campaign and win the next three to make up for the point they dropped in segment one, so tonight’s effort stops the bleeding but there’s much to be done to remediate the damage of that losing streak.
Watteri Merela had 2 shots and 1 hit in 8:45.
Darren Raddysh had 2 shots and 1 hit in 18:26.
