Lightning comeback falls just short.
SEA-4
TB-3 (OT)
Jonas Johansson allowed four goals on 43 shots for the OT loss. To his credit, after getting touched up for three First Period goals he raised the force field the rest of regulation to help his club get a point. The good goaltenders have a way of doing that when they get roughed up early.
First Period
12:08 SEA Dumolin (1), (Schultz, Schwartz)
13:08 SEA Gourde (2), (Yamamoto, McCann)
13:37 TB Jeannot (2), (Fleury, Raddysh)
Second Period
3:40 TB Barre-Boulet (3), (Hagel, Jeannot)(PP)
Third Period
14:32 TB Hagel (6), (Cirelli, Barre-Boulet)
Overtime
2:53 SEA McCann (5), (Dunn, Bjorkstrand)
The Lightning obviously had a pretty sleepy start but responded with a strong final 40 minutes and multiple strikes of the iron that could’ve been a game winner. Instead, Nick Paul takes a penalty in OT and what happened happened. The team sits on 11 points through nine games so they need at least a point in Columbus to close out this 10-game segment of the season successfully.
Alex Barre-Boulet had a goal and an assist and 5 shots in 15:24. More IT than usual for ABB and he seemed to eat it up.
Waltteri Merala was +1 with 1 shot and 2 hits in 11:02.
Darren Raddysh had a helper and 3 blocked shots in 17:11.
