TB-4
TOR-2

Toronto Leads the Series 3-2

Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed two goals on 30 shots for the win. I don’t think he liked the Canadian media spending the last 72 hours talking about how awful he allegedly was/is.

First Period
5:46 TOR Rielly (3), (Knies, Tavares)
6:12 TB Cirelli (3), (Hagel, Perbix)

Second Period
4:23 TB Eyssimont (1), (Bogosian, Cole)

Third Period
11:53 TB Paul (1), (Colton, Eyssimont)
16:26 TOR Matthews (4), (Tavares, Marner)
19:55 TB Killorn (3), (Hedman, Cirelli)(EN)

Mikey Eyssimont and Vasilevskiy were the game’s first and second stars.

That’s three straight games where the Lightning have dominated possession and held Third Period leads. They’re down in the series because of their inability to manage details and get situational saves, but they’ve been the better team the balance of this series. Now they go back to Tampa Bay where they played two pretty strong games only to see it slip away at the end, but with the added dimension of some real pressure now falling on Toronto’s shoulders. Tonight was big, and I’m not sure anybody up north feels at all comfortable at this hour.

I don’t know if it was a hunch Cooper played or a legit injury issue for Jeannot, but Mikey Eyssimont paid off tonight.

Darren Raddysh was -1 with 1 shot, 1 hit, and 1 blocked shot in 22:07.
