Syracuse clawed back and got the “false hope goal” late in regulation, but the hole was simply too deep. Not only did they lose a four point game to Utica but Rochester also won. Syracuse falls two points back of Utica for second in the division with a game in hand and their lead on the Americans shrinks to three points with 11 regular season games left to go.
