Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov were the game’s second and third stars.

They held Vegas to 21 shots. In xG, according to MoneyPuck, they beat Vegas 4.58 to 3.24. The Lightning looked like the Tampa Bay Lightning and they did it wall without Victor Hedman in the lineup. Unfortunately, a couple of blown calls probably led to a pair of Vegas goals including the OT winner, so it was an imperfect return to form for the Lightning. Still, you have to consider it a huge positive sign.

Mikey Eyssimont had 14 penalty minutes, 3 shots, and 4 hits in 9:16 as the fourth line and third D pair line brawled with Vegas in the Third Period, displaying once again that the Lightning have morphed into one of the snarlier teams in the league.
