It was another measuring stick game and the Lightning showed they are a match for Boston, beating them in expected goals, in no small part by out-savvying the veteran Bruins. They won the special teams battle, they won the faceoff circles including a goal directly off a clean faceoff win, and they got the better end of the goaltending. This is what a veteran team in its full maturity can do. It can manufacture victories by mastering the little things.
Nick Perbix was -1 with 2 hits and 1 blocked shot in 12:46.
