LaFontaine, Lucas Edmonds, and Gemel Smith were the game’s three stars.
It’s a shame they couldn’t quite get LaFontaine over the line for the shutout, but it’s a welcome change of pace that the Crunch could win a low scoring game. With eight points in his last three games Tucson’s Michael Carccone has raced five points clear of Darren Raddysh for the league lead in points. But, here comes Gemel Smith checking in at 15th in the league as of this posting.
For the moment, Syracuse is level with Rochester at 30 points for second in the North Division, six points back of Toronto. The Americans hold a game in hand.
