NHL Game Night: 11-19-22 Lightning at Predators

Read Time:1 Minute, 8 Second

Lightning come from behind in chippy, physical win over Nashville.

TB-3
NSH-2 (OT)

Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed two goals on 32 shots for the win. He probably wants that second goal back, but made enough situational saves to give his guys a chance to get it back, which they did.

First Period
1:50 NSH Forsberg (7), (Ekholm, Parssinen)(PP)

Second Period
4:25 TB Kucherov (10), (Point, Sergachev)(PP)

Third Period
5:04 NSH Niederreiter (9), (Duchene)
16:39 TB Killorn (6), (Cole, Kucherov)

Overtime
2:36 TB Stamkos (10), (Kucherov, Point)(PP)

Steven Stamkos and Vasilevskiy were the game’s first and second stars.

Tonight was an excellent display of resiliency by the team. They played a strong game but were stymied by Jusse Saros and a spate of borderline dirty plays by Nashville and some head scratching decisions by the officials. Ultimately, justice was done when Ekholm took a penalty on an OT breakaway by Stamkos that quickly led to the GWG. Tampa Bay sits at 23 points through 18 games, so a single point over the next two contests will put them exactly where they want to be through the first two ten game segments of the campaign. They’re in good position, in fact, to actually bank a point or two buffer by the end of the segment.
