Brayden Point was the game’s second star.

Hard to win when you go -3 on special teams. Hard to win when you continue to surrender shorthanded goals on lackluster power play efforts. The Lightning, to my eyes, played about as crisply as they have all year in the first period at evens. They didn’t get out of that frame with a lead because of the shortie and they followed it up with a no-show Second Period, especially on the PK.

Cole Koepke had 2 hits and 1 blocked shot in 10:45.

Nick Perbix had a helper and was +2 with 2 shots in 16:14. As I’ve noted, I think Perbix has punched his ticket to stay in Tampa even with Bogosian soon to return. Tonight interesting move was putting Myers in, which makes sense athletically against a swift Edmonton roster, but the coaching staff hasn’t shown a lot of faith in Myers to this point. He only got 10:21 of IT, mind you, but a decision point is near and it may not be completely clear cut that Myers is the odd man out over Foote.
