I’m not entirely surprised about the disparity in play between opening night and Friday night. A lot of it is opponent quality, true, but I also think the Lightning are probably going to struggle with some version of runner-up hangover the first couple of months of this season. Completely understandable, and I eventually expect them to correct it, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see some ups and downs in the early going this year before they settle in.
