Ondrej Palat was the game’s second star.
Shot totals for the game were even and at 5v5 had a 2.08 to 1.65 xG advantage. That’s a complex way of saying the score isn’t reflective of the fact the Lightning were probably the better team tonight but kept knee capping their momentum with stupid penalties that chopped up the game and helped spot Toronto a big lead. The level of stupidity we’ve seen at times in this series is the kind of stuff that gets you sent to the golf course early. They need to pull their heads out of their rears pronto.
