AHL Game Night: 4-29-22 Penguins at Crunch

Read Time:53 Second

Crunch continue to look invincible in penultimate game of regular season.

WBS-1
SYR-4

Max Lagace allowed one goal on 21 shots for the victory. His save percentage rises to .910 on the campaign. Incredible, considering he was scuffling in the .880’s for most of the year. It shows just how hot he’s been down the stretch.

First Period
12:48 SYR Elie (17), (Carlile, Green)

Second Period
4:42 WBS Zohorna (12), (Angello, O’Connor)
7:57 SYR Ryfors (11), (Elie)
16:48 SYR Dumont (30), (Barre-Boulet, Hudon)(PP)

Third Period
19:41 SYR Green (5), (unassisted)(EN)

Remi Elie, Simon Ryfors, and Lagace were the game’s three stars.

Syracuse clinches the second seed, by my math, rendering the season finale against Laval and moot point. We’ll see what Groulx chooses to do, but I’d expect him to possibly rest his best players. Laval’s trying to hold off Belleville for the third seed, so expect them to stay with their foot on the gas to try to stay out of the play-in round.
