Seems like maybe a corner was turned tonight? Tonight was the first time in a long time the team really looked in form, and although they did cough up the two goal lead to surrender a loser point to the Canes, the team actually passed the eye test for most of this contest. They outshot a very good possession team 36-27 and probably had the balance of the chances, too. It was a nice glimpse of something I hope Lightning fans see a lot more of down the stretch and into the postseason.
Alex Barre-Boulet was -1 with 2 shots and 2 blocked shots in 13:55. Had some moments of danger, but also wore the goat horns turning the puck over on Skjei’s tying marker.
Ross Colton was 50% on 6 draws in 11:16. He didn’t look bad, but it was a rare quiet night on the scoresheet for Colton.
