After a scoreless first period, the Golden Gophers opened up a two goal lead in the 2nd period before Penn State drew the score within 1 with just 27 seconds left in the period. But Minnesota shut the door in the 3rd, adding two more tallies to secure the victory. The pre-season 11th ranked Golden Gophers improve to 1-0-0 and will be back Friday in the 3M Arena at Mariucci for the rematch.
