Mathieu Joseph and Taylor Raddysh were the game’s first and second stars.
Really a weird game. First game back from a road trip and I think the Lightning stylistically weren’t ready for what the Kings were doing, so it took them a good 25 or so minutes to adjust to what was being thrown at them. Once they did, I thought the balance of possession tilted to them but it was a nip and tuck game throughout, but the team kept grinding and eventually got the victory.
Meanwhile in Sunrise… Ottawa built a snowman on little brother. So things are tied atop the division again. With two games left in this 10 game segment of the season the Lightning have already banked four surplus points. They could really work themselves into commanding position by closing out this segment strong.
Boris Katchouk had a helper and was +1 in 8:30.
Taylor Raddysh had a tip goal and was +1 with 2 shots and 2 hits in 10:27.
Cal Foote had 2 shots, 4 hits, and 1 blocked shot in 13:41. I am hesitant to say it because the last time I did he went into the toilet last season, but Foote seems to have settled into a nice little groove here.
Ross Colton had a helper, 1 shot, and 2 hits in 12:39. He was also 40% on five draws.
