Steven Stamkos and Brayden Point were the game’s first and second stars. Stamkos passed Vincent Lecavalier for second on the club’s all-time scoring list with 1-1-2 tonight, which he followed up with a successful attempt in the SO.
Tampa Bay’s been struggling a bit standings-wise with five points through five games, but given that they’ve played some good competition pretty tough despite losing Kucherov to injury it feels more like a situation where the floodgates will give way soon for the club. They’re playing decent hockey and the law of averages is that the returns are going to come soon. Tonight, in a game that was considered by some a potential SCF preview, they gave Colorado all they could handle without 86 in the lineup.
Boris Katchouk had 1 shot and 5 hits in 7:24.
Taylor Raddysh played 8:39.
Ross Colton had 1 shot and 2 hits in 11:18. He was also 63% on 8 draws.
