After surrendering a couple of power play goals to the Hurricanes veterans in the First Period, a lineup heavy with Syracuse Crunch and junior talent actually settled down and outshot Carolina 28-18 the rest of the way and 37-32 overall. As you can see from the hit totals, the Lightning played a rugged game but reasonably disciplined only taking three penalties.

Alex Barre-Boulet had a goal and was +1 with 4 shots and 1 hit in 17:34.

Boris Katchouk had a helper with 3 shots, 3 hits, and 1 blocked shot in 17:58.
