Tampa Bay brutally outshot Detroit 42-23 today in an even more outsized display of possession superiority, and this time was able to translate it into enough goals to get the payoff in the form of a win. They continue to motor toward the playoffs with a string of games where you see the time dialing in its defensive and possession-oriented game. Hopefully once the postseason comes and Nikita Kucherov and Steven Stamkos draw back into the mix, the goals come, but the defense and possession are the prime prerequisites for success.
Alex Barre-Boulet had 2 shots and 1 hit in 14:03.
Ross Colton was -1 with 2 shots in 10:03. He was also 50% on 4 draws.
