NHL Game Night: 4-5-25 Lightning at Sabres

3 0
Read Time:1 Minute, 4 Second

Lightning road shakiness continues.

TB-2
BUF-3 (SO)

Jonas Johansson allowed two goals on 38 shots before allowing two of three to convert on penalties for the SO loss. He was the only reason they got to the Shootout, so I’m not going to grade him too harshly.

It gives me no comfort at all to see the Lightning get a loser point on a night where they were outshot 38-24 and probably outplayed on balance by the Buffalo frickin’ Sabres. They picked up a point on third place Sunrise but are not four back of Toronto for the Atlantic Division lead with just six regular season games left to go. 17-18-4 on the road. They’d be winning the division easily if they were anywhere near as good on the road as they are at home, and it’s going to put them in a tough opening round series with Sunrise once Matty T magically rises back to health like a cap circumventing phoenix.
