Crunch continue to scuffle in mediocrity.
LAV-3
SYR-2 (OT)
Brandon Halverson allowed three goals on 41 shots in the loss. It would be amazing to see what he’d be doing if he got the goal support Crunch goaltenders have gotten in previous seasons.

Derrick Pouliot and Conor Sheary were the game’s second and third stars. The all-star caliber campaigns thus far from Pouliot and Halverson have been silver linings in an otherwise largely bleak opening to the season. Niko Huuhtanen also has 4-3-7 in his last six for Syracuse, although we find it hard to get too highly excited about Huuhtanen for the next level given his skating limitations.
Syracuse was outshot 41-30 in the game, which is sadly becoming the norm. Through it’s opening 20 games its 8-7-2-3 mark is a lackluster sixth in the North Division ahead of only the Utica Comets. I’m not sure the answers are fully there (or at least healthy) on the roster and changes may need to be made to avoid continued frustration.
