Anthony Cirelli was the game’s third star.
Putting aside the farcical wave off of not one, but two Anthony Cirelli goals (the first of which should have counted), the Lightning failed to mind every detail and it bit them against the run of play in the Third Period. Detroit won a faceoff and scored a goal. These are the finer points that matter at this time of year heading into the postseason.
Mitchell Chaffee had 3 shots and 2 hits in 11:02. Got absolutely smoked on a boarding call in the Third Period. Glad he’s alright.
Emil Lilleberg was -1 with 4 shots and 1 blocked shot in 15:45. Neither he nor Perbix cloaked themselves in glory on Perron’s winner.
