Lightning give up… and that’s a big problem.
TB-1
DAL-8
Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed six goals on 25 shots for the loss before giving way to Jonas Johansson allowed two on nine shots the rest of the way. Vasilevskiy was not good in this game, which set the stage for the embarrassment that ensued from there.

It’s been a stretch of four games where the Lightning have played decent hockey at times, but the results haven’t matched the run of play. Today the absolutely worst thing that can happen under those circumstances happened as Andrei Vasilevskiy had a poor performance that put his team behind the eight ball, and once they fell behind 4-1 I felt they essentially gave up. That’s the recipe for disaster in a slump: when poor morale sets in and low effort leads to things snowballing (into a snowman, today).
Alex Barre-Boulet was -2 with 4 shots and 3 hits in 12:48.
Darren Raddysh was -1 with 2 shots and 1 hit in 17:30.
