Home cooking is a comfort.

VAN-3
TB-4

Jonas Johansson allowed three goals on 29 shots for the victory. As a stat line, you’d have liked to have seen him keep out the third goal, but he continues to do the job the Lightning need him to do.

First Period
11:10 TB Paul (3), (Stamkos)(PP)

Second Period
0:14 VAN Boeser (5), (Miller)
1:02 VAN Myers (1). (Pettersson)
15:43 TB Eyssimont (1), (Sheary, Perbix)
16:52 TB Kucherov (3), (Hagel, Raddysh)

Third Period
4:42 TB Kucherov (4), (Paul, Point)(PP)
18:11 VAN Miller (2), (Hronek, Pettersson)

Nikita Kucherov, Nick Paul, and Mikey Eyssimont were the game’s three stars.

Kind of a must-win game from the standpoint of the desire to keep that twelve points every ten games pace the team really wants to be on. Now they’ve got to get seven of a possible ten remaining points in this segment, which is still a difficult deal, but easier than nine out of ten for certain. The thing that was most relieving to me was seeing the Lightning have a big shot advantage through 40 minutes and before score effects took over after they got the 4-2 lead. That’s the one piece that’s been a bit terrifying and hopefully the turning point has been passed.

Alex Barre-Boulet was -1 with 1 shot in 13:19. Didn’t really build on his personal momentum from the Buffalo game.

Waltteri Merela had 3 shots and 2 hits in 11:28. A more meaningful appearance for a player who still needs to show something to stay in the NHL, IMO.
