The skill players on this team continue to play predictable, stubborn hockey and the bottom liners continue to fail to create greasy goals and chaos chances. Not sure it will get appreciably better until Anthony Cirelli comes back and gets into form, but they get this same team on Sunday and if they have any pride at all I’d expect them to be more engaged than they were tonight.
Cole Koepke was -1 with 1 shot and 1 blocked shot in 11:37. I thought it was one of his better nights, if that’s any solace.
Nick Perbix had a goal and was -1 with 2 penalty minutes, 3 shots, 2 hits, and 2 blocked shots in 19:19. With Foote going out for concussion protocol on the head shot major (that his teammates did nothing with) I believe that was his highest IT of the season so far and he played pretty well. With Hedman playing with his head firmly ensconced in his backside part of the night, you had the really odd reality of the rookie having to cover up for the perennial Norris candidate all night.
