Syracuse starting to go on a heater.

SYR-5
LV-2

Hugo Alnefelt returned to the nets from injury after nearly a month’s absence and allowed two goals on 27 shots for the victory. He improved to 8-4-1-1 on the campaign with a 2.58 GAA, .912 sv%, and 1 SO, as he’s had a nice sophomore bounce so far.

First Period
2:23 SYR Raddysh (10), (Barre-Boulet, Goncalves)
5:59 SYR Finley (6), (Walcott, Element)
12:10 LV Connauton (1), (Attard, Brooks)
12:46 SYR Ryfors (14), (Koepke)

Second Period
1:55 SYR Goncalves (6), (Usau, Raddysh)
13:08 LV Desnoyers (13), (Wilson)

Third Period
19:44 SYR Koepke (4), (Dumont, Barre-Boulet)(EN)

Darren Raddysh and Gage Goncalves were the game’s first and second stars. Raddysh has regained the league scoring lead among defensemen after briefly losing it to Christian Wolanin of Abbotsford. Goncalves, for his part, now sits at 6-19-25 through 33 games with a gaudy +15 rating. That’s another big sophomore bounce.

Syracuse jumps back to fourth in the North Division with the win and has some games in hand on Laval and Belleville behind them, so if they can cash those in they can regain some gap they’ve lost in recent weeks when it comes to comfortable playoff positioning.
