Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed three goals on 34 shots for the win. I’m not even sweating the two garbage time goals. He was great tonight.

Victor Hedman and Nikita Kucherov were the game’s first and second stars.

My favorite conceit since this past offseason has been this: what would happen if Conn Smythe caliber Vasilevskiy and Conn Smythe caliber Victor Hedman showed up at the same time. We found that out tonight, in my opinion, and the league has problems to deal with if it continues to be the case.

Tampa Bay came to Toronto to get at least one win. They accomplished their mission. They’ve wrestled home ice. If they win Game Three the pressure on the Leafs from the Toronto media will be stifling. They’re in a position to drown. Throw them an anchor.
