Panthers get beat up in meaningless preseason win.

FLA-3
TB-2

Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed three goals on 28 shots for the loss.

First Period
5:30 FLA Vatrano (4), (Marchment, Ekblad)

Second Period
16:40 TB Bellemare (1), (Maroon)

Third Period
2:23 FLA Tippett (1), (unassisted)
9:12 FLA Tippett (2), (Huberdeau, Bennett)
18:45 TB Sergachev (1), (Raddysh)(PP)

It’s adorable watching Panther Nation puff out their chests about winning a preseason game 3-2 against a Lightning team without Hedman, Kucherov, Stamkos, and McDonagh. Go ahead and raise the banner. Put it next to the “Won two meaningless games at the end of the regular season before getting smashed in the playoffs.” banner you put up last season.

BTW – The year the Florida Panthers last won a playoff series was the year the Spice Girls released their debut single. That’s a true fact.

One thing we honestly learned tonight is that the Lightning really decided to up the ante on team toughness with their roster construction this year. After seeing the Panthers and Islanders take some liberties with them physically last postseason the team really handled their business tonight.

I thought Taylor Raddysh really helped his stock tonight with how seamlessly he fit in with the fourth line. It didn’t hurt my feelings to watch Boris Katchouk stick his face through Sam Bennett’s forehead either.
